Johnnie Walker Championship golf betting guide
This week the European Tour returns after a break of a few weeks, and we are at a venue which will be the centre of the sporting world come late September 2014.
Gleneagles will be hosting the 2014 Ryder Cup then and the players in the field this season will be looking to impressive European Captain Paul McGinley.
With the FedEx Cup playoffs starting in America the high quality is not there in the Gleneagles field this season, meaning the second tier European Tour players will be looking to add to their Race to Dubai tally.
In saying that I am going for some Ryder Cup veterans to start this off.
Paul Lawrie at 25/1 with Ladbrokes, defending champion and home favourite, Lawrie has had a strange season with 14 cuts made from 16 starts but only one top 10. Loves playing here, so expect him to challenge.
Thomas Bjorn at 25/1 with Ladbrokes, the 2011 champion has had a mixed few weeks, having been in superb form in June he has gone off the rails since mid July. Also finished 10th last year so enjoys playing this track.

Brett Rumford at 33/1 with Ladbrokes, following back-to-back wins at the end of April he has struggled in the big events in recent weeks. His record at Gleneagles is superb though with a 2nd-placed finish in 2010 and 2012.
Thorbjorn Oleson at 40/1 with Ladbrokes, the exciting Dane has been off the boil slightly in recent tournaments, but is 16th on The Race to Dubai for a reason. The Gleneagles course should suit his game, and is one who will have hopes of putting together a Ryder Cup team challenge next season.
Tommy Fleetwood at 80/1 with Ladbrokes, looks a big price for someone who is 65th on the Race to Dubai. Has had a mixed season but playing well and won the British Par 3 Championship a couple of weeks back.
Johnnie Walker Championship advised bets:
2pts each way on Paul Lawrie at 25/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Thomas Bjorn at 25/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Brett Rumford at 33/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Thorbjorn Oleson at 40/1 with Ladbrokes 1pt each way on Tommy Fleetwood at 80/1 with Ladbrokes
