Jimmy Walker shot a final-round 66 in the PGA Tour's season-opening Frys.com Open at CordeValle Golf Club to register a maiden victory on the circuit.
The American trailed Brooks Koepka by three shots heading into the final round, but made a succession of birdies around the turn as his compatriot fell away.
Walker made a fast start, and added birdies at eight and nine to reach the turn on 15-under-par, two behind Koepka.
But the three-time 2013 Challenge Tour winner made bogies at nine and 11, and a Walker birdie at 13, followed swiftly by a Koepka birdie at 12, saw the pair tied for the lead with six holes remaining.
But Koepka bogied 16 and 17 following a Walker birdie at 15, and the latter parred home to register a first victory in his 188th PGA Tour start.
"I think it'll sink in after a while," said Walker.

Vijay Singh came in second following a final-round 68, with four players - including Koepka and Japanese sensation Hideki Matsuyama - finishing in a tie for third place.
