ISGA launches schools match play event
Over 100 schools will compete in The Independent Schools Golf Association's first match play competition
The Independent Schools Golf Association is launching a schools match play knockout competiton. It will feature 100 teams consisting of boys and girls aged 14-18 from all over the UK and Ireland.
The finals will be held in early May over two days with pupils playing for individual and team prizes. A teachers event will run alongside the main competition.
The ISGA has also set up a new one-day event ? The Shire Trophy ? to be held on July 2 2007 at the newly-opened Seve Ballesteros-designed golf course in London.
The association is looking to set up a number of one and two-day competitions around the country to further promote the wealth of talent emerging in junior golf throughout the UK and Ireland.
