Honda Classic: golf betting tips - Selections and stats
Golf Monthly tipster Paul Krishnamurty is out to help you beat the bookies with his comprehensive betting guide for the tricky Honda Classic
It may make sense to give another chance to promising Nationwide Tour recruit SCOTT PIERCY. Piercy stands out on the stats this week, and is a very big price considering his excellent form so far at the higher level. Six starts have produced five top-20 finishes to date, with 6th place at the FBR Open the highlight. That was a frustrating near-miss for this column at 125/1, but at least his price hasn t collapsed as a consequence. He looked likely to contend again last week in Mexico, before another poor final round. Having already proven his ability to close out the deal twice last year on the Nationwide Tour, I reckon its worth persevering with this candidate for rookie of the year. Finally, I reckon this course could be ideal for NICK O HERN. I should apologise to long-term readers who are probably getting sick of me advising a bet on this very rare winner, though in fairness he probably turned a profit for us last year with one place at a big price. O Hern only returned to action two weeks ago after a winter lay-off, and there were signs over the weekend that he had shaken off any rust, with a 68/67 finish to make the top-20. His tee to green accuracy, and quality iron play, should ensure he s one of the dozens of players expected to be within striking distance on what promises to be an exciting, if unpredictable, weekend. Good Luck!
