Korean Han Chang-won leads the Asian Amateur Championship by two strokes at Mission Hills in China, from compatriot Eric Chun.
With one round still to play in the event that offers a place at the 2010 Masters for the champion, 21-year-old Han's third-round 71 saw him move two clear at Mission Hills Golf Club's World Cup Course in Southern China.
Fellow Korean Chun fired a classy 66, a shot clear on his own in second ahead of joint 36-hole leader Jordan Sherratt of Australia who posted a disappointing 74 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, New Zealand's Peter Spearman-Burn is a further shot back in fourth, and first-round leader Han Ren from China is not out of it back in fifth with Kim Meen-Whee and Mhark Fernando.
As well as an invitation to the 2010 Masters, both the winner and runner-up - including tied second places - will earn spots in the International Final Qualifying for the Open Championship at St Andrews next year.
Leader Han reflected: "I will try to play tomorrow in the same way that I have been playing in the past two days. I don't know Eric in person and I have never played with him, but it is great that we get to play together tomorrow."
Chun, who spent much of his younger days in Malaysia and Australian, turned in 32 on Saturday and will be confident of chasing his countryman down after a round that contained only one bogey.
