In a short week in the office, Golf Monthly looked at the best of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and looked forward to the London Club hosting the European Open
In a bank holiday curtailed week, Golf Monthly celebrated Paul Casey’s impressive victory at the BMW PGA Championship and his move up to number 3 in the world rankings.
Rory Sabbatini managed to hold of England’s Brain Davis to win the HP Byron Nelson Championship on the PGA Tour.
There was expectation as the European tour stayed in England as the London Club in Kent held the European Open for the second year. While Ian Poulter and Luke Donald were among the starting field at the Crowne Plaza International at Colonial.
There was high drama at Walton Heath golf club in Surrey as final US Open qualifying occurred with some success for some Brits, while Peter Hanson managed to qualify thanks to a sudden death play-off ace!
The Golf Monthly office team played an Office Order of Merit tournament at Tandridge Golf Club with Deputy Editor Neil Tappin continuing his excellent form to win with 36 points.
On the equipment front we took a look at the Bag Boy Automatic trolley and the Orka RS18 wedge, but have plenty more reviews coming soon.
The Forum continues to cause excitement, and with normal betting guru Paul Krishnamurty’s betting guide on holiday, GM sub editor Tom Clarke decided to try and give a few tips himself… which ended in him getting some abuse. Still, all good fun and we welcome your views and opinions as ever in the Forum.
