Golf Monthly's Centenary Society day at Marriott Breadsall Priory
The penultimate Golf Monthly Centenary Society Grand Final qualifier at Marriott Breadsall Priory

Golf Monthly's penultimate Centenary Society Grand Final qualifier at Marriott's Breadsall Priory proved another fantastic day as four more players qualified for October's showdown at The Forest of Arden.
Alan Badger, Jamie Newton, David Bibb and Greg Begy were the four winners from the various handicap categories and advance to play in Golf Monthly's Centenary Society Grand Final.
Breadsall's Priory Course proved a tough test for the 51 Golf Monthly readers with some tough pin positions and sloping greens making scoring a real grind, but there were opportunities out there, especially with the weather staying warm and dry throughout.
Badger emerged victorious from the 0-11 handicap category with a gritty tally of 32 points, whilst Newton, in the 12-15 category, returned with 39 points to book his place at The Forest of Arden.
Bibb claimed the 16-19 division with 34 points, but the overall winner on the day in the 20+ category was Golf Monthly Forum stalwart Greg Begy who bagged a hugely impressive 43 points. Begy and his fellow winners all picked up a superb Cleveland travel bag, plus the invite to play at the glorious Forest of Arden later this year.
The day was well supported by Srixon Cleveland with the 'Chipping Challenge' the focus of events after the round. Readers were given the chance to use some of the new Cleveland wedges and there was even a dozen Srixon Z-Star golf balls up for grabs.
That prize went to Graham Miles who put one of his 30-yard pitches to two foot. Miles also took away £32 as the ‘£2 twos sweep' went unclaimed. Further prizes went to John Turner and David Willis as winners of the Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive, respectively. The pair also took a share of the £96 twos rollover, a nice petrol bonus for the drive home.
