IRISH OPEN DEAL FOR CUTTER & BUCK
Irish-based manufacturer Cutter & Buck has announced that it will be the official supplier of clothing at this May's Irish Open, which will be staged at Adare Manor in Limerick from May 17-20.
The firm will supply all the clothing to staff, officials and volunteers. The company is probably best known for its long-term sponsorship of women's world number one Annika Sorenstam.
"Cutter & Buck are proud to sponsor one of the European Tour's most prestigious events and we aim to build on our great relationship with the Irish Open and professional golf in Europe," said Paul Byrd, general manager of Cutter & Buck Europe.
FOOTBALL AND CRICKET STARS IN CELEBRITY GOLF CHALLENGE
Ian Botham and Alan Shearer have agreed to captain teams of cricketers and footballers in the Promaga-sponsored Celebrity Golf Challenge in southern Spain this summer.
Sotogrande's Club de Golf La Reserva is the venue for three days of Ryder Cup-style competition from June 20-22. The sponsor, one of southern Spain's biggest property developers, will be making a donation to each team's chosen charity and the presence of Botham (handicap of 8) and Shearer (handicap of 6) will doubtless make for a competitive contest.

The company will also provide sponsorship for the Golf Foundation's inner-city Golf Roots programme.
RYDER CUP JUNIORS IN FOR GLENEAGLES TREAT
The European Tour has announced that the 2010 Junior Ryder Cup will be played at the illustrious Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland from September 27 to October 3 2010.
The 2006 event at Celtic Manor in Wales was a great success, resulting in the first ever tie between Europe and the USA. The next renewal is scheduled for autumn 2008 in the USA at an unamed venue.
