Golf is helping the health of the nation
Sport England’s Active People survey has confirmed that golf is the second most popular ball sport in England with almost a million and a half people participating each month.

Sport England?s Active People survey has confirmed that golf is the second most popular ball sport in England with almost a million and a half people playing golf each month.
The research showed golf as the seventh most popular sport and recreational activity in the country behind recreational walking, swimming, going to the gym, recreational cycling, football and running/jogging.
Perhaps the most rewarding confirmation from the survey was that golf can attract and retain participants who might ordinarily retire when they stop playing other sports such as football or rugby.
Bill Bryce, Chairman of England Golf said: ?We are pleased that the Active People survey has underlined the central role that golf has to play in helping to increase active participation in sport in England and we are confident that golf can significantly assist the government as it seeks to improve the health of the nation.?
