Fisher gains Tour Card
England’s 18-year-old Oliver Fisher became one of the youngest players to pass the stern examination of the European Tour’s qualifying school.
England?s 18-year-old Oliver Fisher has become one of the youngest players ever to come through European Tour School.
The youngster from Chingford, Essex, shot a final-round 71 to finish in fifth position but it was a day of mixed emotions, as his achievement came on the day of his grandfather?s funeral.
Fisher, whose six qualifying rounds included a pair of fine 68s, finished eight shots behind joint Q-School winners, Carlos Rodiles of Spain and Brazilian Alexandre Rocha.
Aged 18 years and 64 days, Fisher is the third youngest player to make it through the rigours of Q-School. Seventeen-year-old Magnus Persson Atlevi qualified for the main tour in 1982 and Nicolas Colsaerts made the grade in 2000.
