Farmers Insurance Open golf betting guide
All the latest odds and tips for the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines this week where Nick Watney is the pre-tournament favourite
The PGA Tour is in California again this week for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
Nick Watney starts as the pre-tournament favourite at
14/1 while last year's winner Bubba Watson is at
25/1.
This is a course that clearly suits the longer hitters so I'm expecting the winner to come from one of the bombers on the PGA Tour. Looking down the list there are two that stand out immediately in Dustin Johnson and Gary Woodland, who are priced at
25/1 and
33/1 respectively.

Of the two, Johnson has the superior record at this event having finished in a tie for third here last year so I'm tempted to go for him over Woodland.
Another player who looks like they could do well this week is Brandt Snedeker at
20/1. Playing in his first tournament of 2012 last week at the Humana Challenge he finished inside the top ten. Couple that with his performances here in the last two years and he looks a pretty good each-way bet.
Ben Crane is also at
20/1 and looks a good prospect this week. Like Snedeker, he has a good record here, winning the tournament in 2010, and has been in good form so far in 2012 with top ten finishes in each of the tournaments he has started.
Phil Mickleson is also sure to attract some money this week at
16/1. He has been out of sorts of late though and so is a player I would advise to avoid.
I'm also interested to see how Rickie Fowler will start his 2012 season at
20/1. Big things will be expected of the youngster in America this year. He has a solid record at Torrey Pines and could get the perfect start to his season with a win here.
Elsewhere in the field Keegan Bradley and Justin Rose are at
25/1, while FedEx Cup champion Bill Haas is at
33/1 with Australia's Geoff Ogilvy.
