Els is latest addition to Qatar field
South Africa's Ernie Els is the latest big-name player to confirm his place in this month's Qatar Masters at the Doha Golf Club.

Tournament sponsor CommercialBank has announced that world number five Ernie Els is confirmed to play in this month's Qatar Masters. The 37-year-old South African won his home open in December ? extending his amazing record of winning at least one tournament per calendar year since 1991 ? and will now join the likes of Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke at the joint European/Asian Tour event on January 25.
With a strong field, and a purse of over $2.2 million at stake, the tournament seems certain to be a great success ? the addition of Els, who won the event in 2005, is the icing on the cake for the sponsors.
