Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Isle of Wight, this Dr. J Cowper and James Braid designed heathland course offers spectacular panoramic views, fast running greens and tight fairways.
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Isle of Wight?s east side, Shanklin & Sandown is a traditional heathland course in a spectacular setting.
Course lowdown: Accuracy and strategic play are crucial at Shanklin & Sandown. It?s not long but significant undulations and tight tee shots make this a stern test. The fairways are bordered by gorse, heather and shrub and can become fast running in the summer months. The toughest hole, the 17th, is a 225-yard par 3 with out of bounds down the right.
Stats: par 70, SSS 69, 6,062 yards
Green fees: £32wd, £23wd after 4pm, £40we and bh, after noon Saturdays.
