Course of the Week - Rotherham GC
This week we visit south Yorkshire and unearth the indisputable charms of Rotherham Golf Club – a parkland classic. If you are in the area over the coming days, why not take in 18 holes here, it's fantastic value for money.

Rotherham Golf Club is situated in Thrybergh Park, and overlooked by a Gothic clubhouse. It is an inviting and friendly golfing venue.
Course lowdown: Most of the trouble is down the left so the course doesn?t suit a hook. The 18th, a 454-yard dogleg with out of bounds down the left is the toughest hole here. Meanwhile a par at the par-3 9th ? the target lies 200 yards away with a valleey in between ? feels like a birdie.
Stats: par 70, SSS 70, 6,327 yards
Green Fees: £30 round, £38 day weekday, £38 round, £45 day weekend
Location: The Club House, Thrybergh Park, Rotherham S65 4NU
History: Founded 1903. Originally a nine hole course, it was increased in 1906 to eighteen holes and was later modified by James Braid.
