Charley Hull joins Ian Poulter as Woburn representative

Woburn has announced that Charley Hull has a signed a contract to become the club's first female touring professional.

The talented Englishwomen made the partnership official on the 18th birthday, just four days after recording her maiden Ladies European Tour victory at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

Hull - who has joined Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter as a club representative - will wear the Woburn logo on her left sleeve and enter tournaments around the world under the Woburn banner.

The 18-year-old joined Woburn as a 11-year-old and frequently partnered with fellow member and promising amateur Lauren Hill - who is currently attending Baylor University in the States - for the club's ladies' team.

After turning professional, Hull started with five consecutive runner-up finishes on the Ladies European Tour.

She excelled as the youngest ever player in the Solheim Cup history last year - defeating veteran Paula Creamer in the Sunday singles - and notched her first win after carding a closing 62 in Morocco and defeating 12-time victor Glawdys Nocera in the subsequent play-off.

The Duke of Bedford, the President of Woburn, said: "I am delighted that Charley will be joining Ian Poulter and representing Woburn Golf Club as a tournament professional."

Poulter, who is current in action at the PGA Tour's Arnold Palmer Invitational, added:

"I am delighted to hear that Charley Hull has today joined me as a touring representative of Woburn.

"Her performance at the Solheim Cup last year was awesome and to win on the Ladies European Tour is a great start to the year.

"I am sure Charley will become a multiple winner of both tours over the next few years. Welcome to the team, Charley!"
