Castello Masters golf betting guide
Get the rundown on the pre-tournament betting for this week's Castello Masters in Spain where young Italian Matteo Manassero is bidding to defend his title
Sergio Garcia is favourite with the bookies for this week's Castello Masters in Spain. The Spaniard is playing on his home course and won the inaugural tournament back in 2008. If you want to get on him,
Elsewhere defending champion Matteo Manassero is 16/1, while last week's Portugal Masters winner Tom Lewis is 25/1. It's a tough call whether it would be worth putting money on the young Englishman at this price as you could have got as much as 150/1 on him at the same time last week.
On the one hand he is clearly playing great golf and with the pressure of gaining his Tour Card now off, he could go out there again and win. The flip-side is, how much celebrating took place after landing a cheque for €416,660 and what shape will he be in for this week? His mind is bound to be in a bit of a spin after such an amazing achievement and odds of 25/1 aren't that appealing. He'll win again, that's for sure, but we're not willing to back Tom this week.
Lorenzo Gagli once again looks a big price at 40/1. The Italian has been playing very consistent golf this year and I feel it will come together for him in the near future and result in a win at a decent odds.
Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal is interesting at 25/1. An impressive display in Portugal, where he finished tied for 11th, could be the catalyst for a win on home soil this week.
Another good performer from last week that looks a big price is Christian Nilsson. He suffered from a poor final round last week but finished third in this event last year and came second the year before. At 33/1 he could be a good pick for a small outright win bet.

At 50/1 Gregory Havret is also worth a look at. The Frenchman closed with 64 in Portugal at the weekend on the way to a tied third finish and will surely be in confident mood for this week. He also has some pedigree in Spain this year after finishing fifth at the Open de Espana in May.
Johan Edfors also appeals at 50/1. But for a 76 in the third round in Portugal he would have been in the mix at the end on Sunday after three rounds in the 60s with a 65 on the Sunday. He also came second in the Open de Andalucia in Spain at the start of the season and could be worth an each-way bet.
