Castello Masters advised golf bets
Paul Krishnamurty takes a look at the field for this week's Castello Masters at Club de Campo del Mediterráneo, Castellón, Spain. Betting guide, prices and tips to give you the best chance of making some money this weekend.
Naturally, there is a strong Spanish contingent besides Garcia. Rafael Cabrera-Bello looks a live candidate, and at a silly price I could see Carlos Del Moral going well. Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, however, has a disappointing record on home soil. Pick of the lot could be IGNACIO GARRIDO, who has been in consistent form of late and finished a respectable 15th here last year. After finishing seventh in Madrid, Garrido couldn't maintain the rate of low scoring, but still managed four rounds of 70 or better in Portugal. Four of his last eight starts have produced top-15s, and I've felt all year that this experienced former Ryder Cup player has a win in him at a decent price. Robert Allenby also deserves a mention on a rare European outing. He certainly has the class, but I wonder whether he'll hole enough putts as a winning total at least in the high teens looks on the cards. Bradley Dredge can't be totally discounted either, and nor can the consistent Anthony Wall, who never wins. One outsider worth keeping an eye on is Robert Rock, who has gone off the boil since an excellent spring but finished the weekend in style with a 64. My final pick is DAVID DRYSDALE at 80/1. That seems a very big price for a man who finished third on his penultimate start on a similar type of course. Drysdale has seven top-10s to his name in 2009, including four top-5s to reward each-way backers. Clearly this is the best season of his career, and this type of birdie-fest is right up his street.
