Broadhurst compiled a round of six-under-par to claim the first-round lead in the Farmfoods British Par 3

Championship at Nailcote Hall in Warwickshire.

Cup legend Sam Torrance OBE put in a strong performance to finish at -2 and has

left himself in a strong position for today's conclusion to the tournament.

Teenager Charley Hull also matched Torrance's score to give herself a chance of

taking home the coveted title.

Hull will become the youngest ever European to take part in the Solheim Cup when she tees it up at the Colorado Golf Club next week.

After the celebrity fun on Tuesday, yesterday found the

professionals battling it out to win their share of the £100,000 prize fund.
