Bob Hope Chrysler Classic betting guide - Outsiders and selections

Others who came in for close consideration include Ryuji Imada, a superb putter who has shown plenty of promise in this and other pro-ams before. Steve Marino gave us a decent run for our money last week in 7th place, and nobody rated better across the key stats than another putting genius, Brian Gay. All of those three were plenty short enough in a wide-open event though, so instead I'm opting for a couple of players at triple-figure odds. MARK WILSON looks massive at 125/1 on the basis of his late 2008 form, and I can't help feeling those odds are an over-reaction to missing the cut last week. Wilson has won a PGA Tour event before, emerging on top after a four-man play-off in the Honda Classic a couple of years ago, and nearly added another when valiantly chasing Zach Johnson home in October's Texas Open. He's one of the best putters around, and is another who looks ideally suited by birdie-fests. Finally, 200/1 chance JOHN MALLINGER has prospered before in Californian putting contests and is by no means a forlorn hope. He's been placed in the last two Pebble Beach pro-ams, so clearly isn't somebody who gets distracted during these time-consuming affairs. Mallinger's strength are straight driving and putting, so conditions appear ideal in every respect. Good Luck!
