BMW International Open preview
An impressive field competes in Germany this week where players will relish the opportunity for low scoring after the gruelling US Open.

Tournament: BMW International Open
Course: Golfclub München Eichenried
Prize fund: ?2,000,000
Course details: Par 72, 6955 yards. The Golfclub München Eichenried is extremely flat with water coming into play on 10 holes. Scoring is traditionally very low but a number of changes to the course have been made in recent years to increase its difficulty.
The lowdown: Considering this is the week after the gruelling US Open the BMW Championship includes an impressive field. Niclas Fasth, Nick Dougherty and Paul Casey all compete after impressive weeks at Oakmont and are joined by defending champion Henrik Stenson. Competitors will be looking forward to making up for the lack of birdies last week as Golfclub München Eichenried always provides low scoring. The 2001 champion John Daly will no doubt attract the crowds as will German legend Bernhard Langer.
The contenders: Henrik Stenson, Ernie Els, Paul Casey
