Lee Westwood rose to the summit of golf's world rankings this year, toppling the most famous sportsman in the world, Tiger Woods. His finishes of second in the Masters and the Open this year indicate how close he is coming to winning that elusive first Major.
Colin Montgomerie should have won a Major. It's a crime that he never did. It won't happen now will it? Tom Watson came close, so we should never count it out.
Paul Casey has been hampered by injury of late and has seen Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer and Ian Poulter edge ahead of him when it comes to favourites for the Majors. However, he now has the experience and when he's back from injury he could land one of the big ones.
Sergio Garcia is a player currently in decline. Few golfers will forget his battle with Tiger at the USPGA in 1999 and since then he's been a pleasure to watch. He's frequently come close to that Major breakthrough, but the last two seasons have been very poor by his standards
Scott has one of the best swings the game has seen and is impeccable from tee to green. Even coach Butch Harmon has stated that he should have won a Major by now. With a win this year at the Valero Texas Open things are looking up again for Scott after a few years of lost form.
