Ballantine's Championship golf betting guide
This week's betting guide and advised bets for the Ballantine's Championship on the European Tour. New customers to Ladbrokes can get up to £50 in free bets
Last week was a frustrating week for this column even if we did make a profit. Two of our selections were in the hunt, although a second-place finish at 16/1 with Nicolas Colsaerts at 16/1 was as good as it got. Still, not bad.
It's South Korea this week for the Ballantine's Championship at Blackstone Golf Club, and it's an interesting looking field with Adam Scott heading the betting at
7/1. That's way too skinny a price to interest us even if Scott did have a decent Masters and is now playing some of his best golf again.
We're inclined to go with a couple of selections on players who have been playing in recent weeks in this part of the world, as opposed to those coming back after a short break. The weather looks to be cold with a bit of rain, as well, and that could play a factor.
Ian Poulter did finish strongly in China last week and is one player that won't be concerned by a bit of cold weather. Last week's monster course wouldn't have been quite to his liking, but it's a touch shorter this week and we see a good season ahead for the Englishman, especially in a Ryder Cup year. 14/1.
Another man with Ryder Cup ambitions is Alexander Noren. The Swede is in good touch, finished tied sixth last week, and finished only four shots back at the Ballantine's Championship last year when Lee Westwood won. He's tip number two at

Paul Casey is in action again this week and did make our shortlist, but in China he was well off the pace and he's still not looking his best after overcoming recent injuries. He'll be back but we suspect not this week.
Finally, another man in good form with pedigree on this course is South Africa's Jbe Kruger. He can be backed at
33/1 with Ladbrokes. Having picked up his maiden European Tour win at the Avantha Masters in February, Kruger appears to have more wins in the tank and 33/1 isn't too bad even if the field is a lot stronger this week.
