AT&T Classic Preview
Masters champion Zach Johnson travels to the Greg Norman-designed TPC Sugarloaf with bags of confidence, while Henrik Stenson heads the European challenge
Tournament: AT&T Classic
Course: TPC Sugarloaf, Duluth, Georgia
Prize Fund: $5,400,000
Course details: par 72, 7,259 yards. The course is built on farmland and the fairways are lined with century-old trees. A further test is the run-off areas around the greens that penalise poor approach shots.
Key hole: Sugarloaf?s final hole is capable of spoiling a good score. The tee shot at this par 5, dogleg right, must find a tight fairway. Players risk landing in one of three water hazards that guard the green if they attempt to hit it in two.
The lowdown: Phil Mickelson won?t be defending his title this week so Masters champion Zach Johnson will hope to go one better than last year. Statistically, Argentinean Jose Coceres stands the best chance of finding the narrow fairways ? he tops the PGA Tour?s driving accuracy ranking. Europe?s hope comes in the form of Henrik Stenson.
Contenders: Henrik Stenson, Zach Johnson, Jose Coceres.
