American Club Golfer Hits Two Holes-In-One
A 53 year-old man from Texas achieved the impossible over the weekend whilst playing in a medal at a local club, hitting two holes-in-one on the same hole.
The annual 36-hole competition over two days at the Rawls Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas, has passed through the calendar for several years un-noticed. That all changed last weekend, as an amateur golfer from the local area with a handicap of fourteen became something of a regional celebrity.
The first eighteen holes were played on Saturday, and at the close of play the talk of the clubhouse was of a hole-in-one by 53 year-old insurance agent Danny Leake. Leake had used his five iron at the 174 yard par-3 sixth hole to great effect, hitting his first ever hole-in-one.
What happened the next day will surely go down in local golfing folklore. On the Sunday morning, again standing on the sixth tee with his five iron in his hands, Leake did it again. It wasn't enough to ensure victory for him in his section of the competition, but it has made him the talk of his town and is something that probably won't ever happen again.
"I've never even heard of such a thing," said the Managing Director of the Rawls Course, Jack North.
"The chances of this happening again are very slim indeed."
Leake was immediately interviewed by a host of local reporters and it was clear that he had been left shocked by his amazing feat.
"My five-iron is becoming my favourite club," he told local newspaper the Lubbock Avalanche Journal.

"I've always wanted to hit a hole-in-one, but I'm nowhere near as good as some of the other players here. That's what makes this so crazy. I'll probably never hit another one as long as I live, but that's OK by me."
