2006 European Tour by numbers
After Ireland's Padraig Harrington clinched the European Tour Order of Merit on the season's final day at Valderrama, Golf Monthly has compiled a summary of the year's statistical leaders.
The 2006 European Tour season came to a close yesterday at Valderrama in Spain, with Ireland's Padraig Harrington clinching the Order of Merit crown on what was a dramatic final day. We have compiled a collection of the Tour's leaders in several different categories, which makes for interesting reading. Who would have thought, for instance, that Ernie Els would lead the scoring average table, closely followed by Sergio Garcia? Neither man won a European Tour event in 2006, but still find themselves top of that particular tree.
