The new Your Golf Travel Championship Powered by VPAR has officially launched, offering thousands of golfers the chance to compete in a free amateur competition where they can win loads of prizes
The new Your Golf Travel Championship Powered by VPAR has officially launched this week, offering thousands of golfers the chance to compete in a Europe-wide competition from the comfort of their home course.
Running between June and October, the new Your Golf Travel Championship taps into VPAR’s award winning app technology, which allows golfers to record their scores and view other players efforts on a live leaderboard.
The format of the new championship is a fourball better ball pairs compeition, with no entry fees, and prizes including the chance to win a round of golf with 2016 Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke.
How does it work?
Unlike most amateur tournaments that usually involve an entry fee, local knockout games, regional finals and a few days abroad in a grand final, the Your Golf Travel Championship Powered by VPAR allows you to enter at any course, at any time.
The format sees you and your partner play 18 holes of fourball better ball with another pair, playing off ¾ handicaps and logging your gross scores on the VPAR app as you go.
While scoring, you can reference the Your Golf Travel Championship’s live leaderboard to see where you stand, just like the professionals can while playing a tournament.

After each hole the app works out your Stableford and team score, and at the end of the round sends an email to each pair to verify their scores, like a marker’s signature in a regular amateur or professional event.
From then on it’s up to you. You can play a few times with the same partner, or maybe 50 times with 20 different partners, each on a different course. Whatever you wish.
What can you win?
Once October the 19th rolls around, the top 15 pairs on the leaderboard, plus a celebrity pair, will win a place in the Final Series at the Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort in Morocco, where they’ll be playing for the chance to win a round of golf with Darren Clarke.
Even if you miss out on a trip to Morocco, you can win a stash of Cleveland and Srixon prizes each month by taking part in a host of mini competitions, including:
Most courses played Most rounds played Top pair of the month Most gross birdies in a month Best scoring for par 3s, 4s and 5s Best dressed (enter via a social media picture) Best course picture (enter via a social media picture) Chip of the month (enter a video via social media using #chipofthemonth) Longest putt of the month (enter a video via social media using #longestputt)
How can I enter?
You can enter the 2015 Your Golf Travel Championship Powered by VPAR at any course and at any time by downloading the free VPAR app from the Apple Store or Google Play and using it to score your round.
