The Upavon 'Golfathon' set for 24 hours of golf
On 5th May, two men will play golf for 24 hours straight in a bid to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity in an event named ' The Upavon Golfathon '.
On the May 5, 2009, SSgt David Ross will be attempting to play golf for 24 hours straight to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity, in an event named The Upavon 'Golfathon'.
Help for Heroes was established in 2007 and Major Phil Packer RMP, a close friend of Ross', has been trying to raise £1 million after he sustained a life-changing injury during his tour of Iraq.
The event will be held at Upavon Golf Club in Wiltshire and has been aptly labelled a ‘golfathon’.
Ross will tee off on May 5 at 4pm and, with playing partner Stuart Jamieson, will work round the course for a 24 hours.
