Seve Legends

Fans of golfing legend Seve Ballesteros will get the chance to share their favourite Seve stories at The Seve Ballesteros Legends Tournament, taking place at Pebble Beach in November.

It's over a year since the death of the five-time major winner, and everyone has their favourite memories of the charismatic Spaniard.

"The idea is to bring together Seve's contemporaries, celebrity golfers and Seve fans from all over the world for a celebration of the great man and to raise money for The Seve Ballesteros Foundation," says Mark Emms, the event's organiser.

The tournament will take place on the Peter Hay Course, which opened in 1957 and has hosted numerous par 3 championships including the warm-up to the annual AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

"Seve was of course the master of the short game, so we thought it would make perfect sense to hold a par 3 tournament in his honour," Emms adds.

Each team will be captained by a celebrity and the tournament has already attracted support from both sides of the Atlantic, with British celebrities Dougray Scott, Jodie Kidd and Jason Isaacs taking part.

The Seve Ballesteros Foundation was set up by Ballesteros and his family in 2009 and since then has raised over £2 million pounds for brain cancer research.

The tournament runs from November 29 to December 1, more details can be found at www.sevelegends.com
