Paul Lawrie Match Play Tickets to Give Free Entry to Scottish Senior Open
Day tickets have been dropped to £15 to increase spectator numbers
1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie will be at Edinburgh's St. Andrews square on Friday to promote the event
Tickets for this year's Paul Lawrie Match Play at Archerfield Links will also give entry to the Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Senior Open at Archerfield on August 19th-21st.
The 2016 Paul Lawrie Match Play, which Golf Monthly are supporting, takes place at Archerfield Links Golf Club from 4th – 7th August.
Last year's tournament was won by Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
Paul was disappointed with last year's spectator numbers at Murcar, so this year's daily ticket price has been lowered to £15.
The 1999 Open champion and Ryder Cup vice captain said “The event didn’t attract the number of spectators we thought it would last year and there were a few reasons for that.
“We’re not slagging off people for not coming then, but we do need to get that better. It won’t continue if the numbers don’t improve because you can’t keep doing that.

“If you take away The Open and, of course, the Scottish Open at Gullane last year, there’s not been that many men’s professional tournaments down that way (in East Lothian) in recent times.
“With the joint-ticket offer with the Scottish Senior Open, we are bending over backwards to try and get people along. If they don’t come, there’s not much more we can do.”
The Golf Monthly columnist will be at the Golf Coast Village Interactive Zone in Edinburgh's St. Andrew’s Square on Friday at 1pm to help share more about what’s happening on Scotland’s Golf Coast this Summer.
Golf is set to take over the square to celebrate East Lothian’s ‘Summer of Golf’ where a host of tournaments are taking place in the region.
Scotland’s Golf Coast welcomes the Paul Lawrie Match Play at Archerfield Links (4th – 7th August 2016), the Boys Amateur Championship to Muirfield and The Renaissance Club (9th – 14th August 2016) and the Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Seniors Open to Archerfield Links (19-21 August 2016).
Paul Lawrie OBE has 13 professional victories and has made two Ryder Cup appearances.
