Open Ticket Prices Reduced

New pricing and ticket options are being introduced for the 145th Open at Royal Troon.

There is also the exciting introduction of twilight tickets, that  will be introduced for the first time.

Twilight tickets offer course entry after 4pm on Thursday and Friday of Championship week and will only cost £25. There are limited amounts available, spectators are encouraged to purchase them in advance.

Adult daily tickets for the Championship are now on sale as well. If purchased before 31 May you pay £60, which is £10 less than last year’s price. After that, tickets will still be able to be purchased, just at a higher cost of £80.

Weekly tickets are also an option. From Sunday 10 to Sunday 17 July, tickets are £230 before 31 May and £260 after.

Children under 16 receive free entry to The Open, a daily ticket for those aged 16-21 costs £25 before 31 May.

Spectators have the chance to see some of the world’s best golfers at reasonable prices compared to some other sports matches in the area.

Take the 2015 Rugby World Cup for example, for a semi-final ticket you’d have to shell out at least £200, at that’s just the starting price. Finals tickets sold for upwards of £800.

The cheapest tickets for a Premiership football match will start at around £30  if you are lucky, while a day at a Test Match will cost you nearly £100.

There had been some critics of the Open's ticket pricing policy in the past, but this should really be very much welcomed by the golf-viewing public.

Indeed we expect there to be a record crowd in the Kilmarnock area when Troon hosts its first Open since Todd Hamilton won in 2004. The Open’s new twilight ticket and ticket pricing ensure the most value for what you’re paying. Spend hours on the course watching your favorite golfers for a fraction of other sporting events’ ticket prices.
