Montgomerie visits Bearwood Lakes
Former Ryder Cup player and captain Colin Montgomerie visited Bearwood Lakes Golf Club ahead of the 39th Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club
Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie paid a visit to Bearwood Lakes Golf Club just days before he travelled to Medinah Country Club for the 39th Ryder Cup.
This year, Montgomerie was there in a new capacity as a Sky Sports pundit, an entirely different role from 2010, when he captained Europe to a memorable victory over the USA at Celtic Manor.
The Scotsman made an excellent impression with his kindness to guests and staff, and was impressed with the quality and conditioning of the club and course.
"These are the best greens I have played on for quite some time," he said.
Carl Rutherford, Managing Director at Bearwood Lakes, added: "We are always delighted when Colin visits Bearwood Lakes.
"Colin is great company on and off the course and the quality of his golf appeared to be as good now as it has ever been.
"I know that it has been a terrific thrill for everyone here today to meet a living legend of the game, and typically poignant to have a former winning captain of the Ryder Cup just prior to the bi-annual clash of golf's finest players."
