Kingswood G&CC to host Golf and Poker Challenge

In April, Kingswood Golf & Country Club will host the Golf and Poker Challenge, an exciting format which amalgamates the two different sports.
The motivation behind the event was the desire to bring the image and enjoyment of golf into the 21st century.
"Personally I still love the odd round of foursomes and the challenge of strokeplay Medal in 30mph winds, but golf needs a little something to get everyone excited, like T20 has in cricket," said Mark Stewart, Kingswood's Secretary.
"After hosting two successful Poker evenings in 2012 I made a decision to host a Golf and Poker Challenge.
"The idea is that the amount of Stableford points you get over nine holes will determine how many poker chips you start with during the poker element of the event.
"There will also be bonus chips for longest drive and nearest the pin, and a bonus ball will be used on one hole, which will allocate you double points on that particular hole."
TaylorMade has generously donated its latest R1 driver as the first prize.

"The idea of the day is to offer something to both Kingswood members and to visitors in the area who enjoy golf, and most importantly, a good laugh on a Friday evening!" said Mark.
