Follow the action from Kings of Distance - Live! with Callaway Golf at Stoke Park

After huge amounts of planning and organisation, Kings of Distance - Live! with Callaway Golf finally got underway at 9.30am as some 90 competitors braved the M25 to attend the highly-anticipated event.

Rob Lee and Golf Monthly editor Mike Harris got the day underway with entertaining speeches.

After being split into eight teams, the competitors headed out to one of seven zones - long driving, hybrids, irons, tour truck, putting, bunker play and the media zone - to hone their games ahead of the grand finale.

Throughout the day, the entrants will get advice from World Long Drive Champion Joe Miller - who ripped one down Stoke Park's first hole before the start of the event - sample Callaway's latest product, take part in clinics with PGA Pros and meet Callaway Staff players Alvaro Quiros, Alex Noren and Danny Willett.

Joe Miller gives a clinic in the Driving Zone

Miller is on hand in the Driving Zone to give Kings of Distance - Live! participants a clinic in how to hit the ball further, while Callaway's technicians are hard at work custom fitting on the range to find the right driver models, specs, shafts and balls to enable those taking part to increase their driving distances.

Just a stone's throw away from the Driving range is Rob Lee's Media Zone, where Golf Monthly readers are being out through their paces by the Sky Sports Golf commentator.

After a briefing from the popular Callaway ambassador, readers go behind the camera to test their commentary skills, with mixed results!

After stopping for a spot of lunch, the competitors headed back out to the course to be greeted by Callaway Staff professionals Alvaro Quiros, Alex Noren and Alex Noren, while Rob Lee continued to play producer in the ever-popular Media Zone.

At the Short Game Zone, Danny Willett explained how to chip with more accuracy and efficiency around the greens, before giving a bunker-play masterclass.

Danny then gave a lesson in hitting hybrids and long irons from fairway bunkers at the Hybrids and Irons Zone while Alvaro Quiros - whose light-hearted demeanour and sense of humour saw numerous participants break into laughter - demonstrated how to chip with an obstacle between you and the flag.

Willett, meanwhile, stopped to watch Joe Miller, with the 2012 BMW International Open winner clearly in a state of disbelief after seeing the 2010 World Long Drive Champion crunch another booming drive.

The day culminated in a Grand Finale, which saw Noren, Quiros and Willett hit a selection of shots as chosen by Rob Lee.

Two players were then called forward from each of the eight teams, with those recording the biggest total yardage earning a custom-fitted Callaway driver for themselves and their teams.

Sam Mendoza and Steve Tilley managed a mighty 622 yards between them to see the Grey Team crowned Kings of Distance.

The biggest distance gain of the day came from Martin Jones, who improved his driver distance by an incredible 60 yards.

To conclude proceedings, Joe Miller put on a hugely popular long-driving display, including shots through wood and watermelon and an Odyssey two-ball putter drive, which travelled 300 yards!

Despite the mild wind into his face, he produced a 403-yard drive with his last ball of the day.
