Golfingindex to benefit unattached golfers
The initial launch of the free system will cover Europe
The online system will allow golfers to compare performances and log their own scores.
A free-to-use online community called Golfingindex will allow unattached golfers to record scores and analyse their game.
The system, created by HowDidiDo and Club Systems International, is designed for golfers who aren't registered to a club and gives them the opportunity to build an online profile of their game.
Unregistered golfers will now be able to enjoy tools that have been available to club members for many years.
Among the benefits on offer to golfers are the chance to post their own round scores, compare performances with friends and to read and post course reviews.
Richard Peabody, managing director of CSI, said: "In terms of creating a level playing field for unattached golfers it is the biggest thing to happen to the sport since handicapping was introduced."

"Traditionally, these unregistered golfers have not had the ability to play on a ‘level playing field' and, more recently, did not have access to the sort of statistics and profile data enjoyed by members using HowDidiDo.
"So we have addressed that and designed the Golfingindex to provide everything we can for the ‘unattached' golfer."
It is estimated that there are between 1 million and 3.5 million unregistered golfers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
However, Peabody believes the simplicity and scope of the system means the large number of unattached golfers will be drawn to it.
"The Index will be calculated and updated automatically, giving unregistered golfers the same ability to play the course as it was intended as has been enjoyed for centuries by club members," he said.
Golfingindex's launch will cover Europe and will use par instead of SSS or CSS, due to the universal understanding of par.
