Girl, nine, records hole-in-one
a nine-year-old Welsh girl recorded a hole-in-one to help her claim victory at the Great Britain and Ireland Golf Society Junior Masters
A nine-year-old Welsh wizard recorded a hole-in-one en route to victory in the girls category of the Great Britain and Ireland Golf Society Junior Masters.
Ffion Tynan started with a par at Gog Magog Golf Course in Cambridgeshire before reaching the 153-yard par-3 second hole.
Her ball landed just short of the green, dodged a bunker, rolled up the putting surface and hit the flag before dropping into the cup.
Understandably thrilled, the Pontypridd Golf Club junior lost her rhythm over the next five holes, and dropped five shots to fall way down the field.
She regained her composure, however, and embarked on a scintillating back-nine run, notching six birdies and an eagle to edge out under-13 England International Jade Guest on countback.
During the half-term period, Ffion also booked her place at next year's Callaway World Junior Championship in San Diego.
She will also be working hard this winter to prepare herself for the 2013 European Championships, held in Scotland next May.
