Donald Trump negotiating bid to buy Turnberry
Reports have surfaced that American property tycoon Donald Trump is negotiating the final details of a deal to buy four time Open venue Turnberry.

Reports have surfaced that property tycoon Donald Trump is negotiating the final details in a £35 million deal to buy four time Open venue Turnberry.
The American, who already owns 16 courses around the world including Trump National Doral in Miami, and Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, is looking to buy the South Ayrshire resort from Leisurecorp, who are based in Dubai and operated by Starwood Hotels.
Turnberry is most famous for the legendary 1977 Duel in The Sun that saw Tom Watson beat Jack Nicklaus in The Open, and for Watson's near perfect return in 2009, where he wad pipped by Stewart Cink in a playoff for the Claret Jug.
Trump's deal, reportedly worth around £35 million, could prove to be a relative steal, given Leisurecorp bought the resort that includes the courses as well as a golf academy, a five-star hotel and lodge and cottage accommodations originally for around £52 million.
