Charity golf bonanza at Sunningdale
Gary Lineker, Eddie Jordan and Barry McGuigan are amongst a host of celebrities scheduled to take part in the charity golf day at Sunningdale Golf Club on 19 October, and keen golfers are being encouraged to come and play alongside them.
Patrons of the cancer charity CLIC Sargent - Gary Lineker, Eddie Jordan and Barry McGuigan are hosting a charity golf day at Sunningdale Golf Club on 19 October to raise £150,000 for children and young people with cancer, and keen golfers are being invited to play alongside them.
The Tullow Oil Golf Day 2010 will give amateurs a chance to be captained by top sporting and television celebrities including Jamie Redknapp, Lawrence Dallaglio, Mark Ramprakash and Chris Hollins for a round of golf. After the game they'll retire to the clubhouse for a champagne reception, three-course lunch, charity auction and prize-giving ceremony.
More celebrity captains are still to be announced, and with places limited to just 18 teams of three players, the event is likely to sell out fast. Tickets are for sale at £2,500 per team of three and can be purchased from Rosie Lightfoot on 020 8752 2893 or email: rosie.lightfoot@clicsargent.org.uk
Paul Turner, head of major fundraising at CLIC Sargent , aid: "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to play a round of golf with some really high-profile celebrities, plus guests will help CLIC Sargent to continue supporting children and young people with cancer".
Now in its 12th year, the annual golf event has raised more than £1.5million for CLIC Sargent. All money raised from this event will used to provide support and care for the 10 children and young people diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK.
