Brimstage brewery sponsors new golf tournament
Wirral based brewery, Brimstage, has announced a three-year sponsorship deal with new golf tournament to be held at Bromborough Golf Club
Brimstage Brewery, an award-winning Wirral brewery, has announced a three year sponsorship deal with a new golf tournament which will aim to identify the number one golf society team across Cheshire, Lancashire and North Wales.
The event, to be known as the Brimstage Brewery Team Golf Challenge, will be held annually at Bromborough Golf Club. The brewery will also underwrite a hole-in-one competition with a £5,000 golf holiday in the USA as a prize.
Brimstage, which has seen it's beers reach the finals of CAMRA's Champion Beer of Britain competition for the last two years, was launched four years ago by Neil Young. The brewery supplies pubs across the Wirral and the North West and the the sponsorship deal with Bromborough Golf Club has been described as an outstanding boost to the business.
Young, stated: "The course is one of the most respected across the region and this partnership can only enhance Brimstage Brewery's reputation in the North West."
Dr Steve Anderson, chairman of marketing at Bromborough Golf Club, added: "The Ryder Cup showed what a powerful format team golf can be and we thought it would be great to create a competition for golf societies within easy reach of the Wirral."
The Brimstage Brewery Team Golf Challenge will take place for the first time on Sunday 7 August 2011.
Each team will consist of four players, each of which must have an active CONGU handicap. Entry fees are £18 and application forms are available for download from the Bromborough Golf Club website.
