Norman hosts charity championship
Greg Norman hosted the Tristan Capital Partners Charity Golf Championship last Thursday, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity
As The Open got underway at Royal Lytham and St Annes, Greg Norman was hosting a charity golf day at the renowned Wentworth Club in Surrey.
The Australian, known as 'The Shark', hosted the Tristan Capital Partners Charity Golf Championship in aid of the Black Heart Foundation last Thursday.
Norman - who was world number one for 331 weeks and inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2001 - also chaired the event, hosted by Ric Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of Tristan Capital Partners.
The tournament, comprised of 170 golfers and played over the West, Edinburgh and Executive courses, raised over £200,000 for the foundation.
Golfers from all over the world, including a number of recognisable faces from the world of sport, entertainment and finance, gathered at the prestigious club to participate in the event.
"We've welcomed some fantastic event chairmen in the past, with Sam Torrance, Corey Pavin and Seve Ballesteros among them, and Greg continued that tradition this year," said Lewis.
"As well as guests having a great time, the key is to raise funds and support the Black Heart Foundation. This year has taken our fundraising to a new level, so we owe huge thanks to our tournament sponsors."

Norman added: "It has been a honour to be chairman of this event, especially so close to London and on the eve of the Olympics.
"I have seen first-hand in Australia what sport can do to re-energise young people, and I am delighted we have raised so much for such a great cause."
