Justin Rose Becomes Glenmorangie Ambassador

The Whisky company who are the 'Spirit of the Open' have partnered up with Rose who won the Silver medal in 1998 at Royal Birkdale

Justin Rose is the new global golf ambassador for Scottish whisky company Glenmorangie.

Glenmorangie are partnered with The Open Championship as the 'Spirit of The Open' and believe Justin Rose is the perfect partner.

Rose famously holed his 50-yard approach to the final hole of the 1998 Open at Royal Birkdale where, as a 17-year-old amateur, he finished in fourth place to become part of the Open Championship folklore.

The Englishman's will feature in Glenmorangie adverts and has scheduled appearances with them in both the UK and US this year.

Justin Rose said: “It is an honour to forge a partnership with such an iconic malt whisky and I am excited to be part of Glenmorangie’s plans to celebrate The Open Championship and what it stands for.  Glenmorangie is a whisky I enjoy, and I have an appreciation of the history, traditions and years of experience and dedication that have gone into crafting its unique flavour and finish”.

Marc Hoellinger, President and CEO of The Glenmorangie Company, said: “We are delighted to introduce Justin as an ambassador for Glenmorangie, The Spirit of The Open. Justin has inextricable links with The Open Championship, an event we have proudly partnered with for a number of years.  A proven winner, Justin leaves no stone unturned in his quest to be the best.  At Glenmorangie, it is a belief in being unnecessarily well made that drives the creation of our award winning whisky.  There is a great deal of similarities in both our approaches and what we are trying to do in our respective fields”.

Rose, the current World Number 8, won his first major at the 2013 US Open to become the first Englishman to win the trophy since Tony Jacklin back in 1970.

He won twice last year, on the PGA Tour in April at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and in November on the European Tour at the UBS Hong Kong Open.
