Derby County Football Club has teamed up with the Derbyshire PGA to offer an opportunity for golf professionals and amateurs to compete in up to three prestigious golf events throughout the county in what will be known as the Derby County’s Pro-Am Series.
In association with TaylorMade-adidas golf, each event will be staged at one of the county’s best known golf courses, starting at Burton Golf Club on the 22 June. This is followed by Morley Hayes on the 23 July and finally Kedleston Park Golf Club on the 21 September.
Set to establish a new standard in golf events, amateur players as well as having the opportunity to partner some of the region’s top golf professionals, are set to win a host of fabulous prizes. The professionals, in addition to playing for over £5000 in prize money, will be looking to secure valuable points at each event in a bid to win the coveted DCFC Pro-Am Order of Merit.
In launching the Pro-Am series, Rams manager Nigel Clough said: “With three venues to choose from, I’ll be hoping to compete in the events myself. Like any amateur in any sport you aspire to pitch yours skills alongside that of the professionals”.
At a cost of £450 per team per event, amateur golfers receive a souvenir golf pack, entry into a Taylormade Rossa putting competition, complimentary on-course refreshments and an invitation to be the guest of Derby County and the Derbyshire PGA at a prestigious Golf Awards Evening including dinner, to be held at Pride Park Stadium later in the year.
For more information or to reserve a team call 01332 667538 or visit dcfc.co.uk and click on events.
