Colin Montgomerie announced as De Vere golf ambassador
Colin Montgomerie has been announced as a golf ambassador for the De Vere chain, the UK's leading luxury golf resorts company

Colin Montgomerie has been announced as the latest ambassador for the De Vere chain.
Montgomerie will join De Vere to represent the brand's many golf hotels.
He is set to join a line of figureheads comprised of accomplished sportsmen including Olympic gold medalist Katherine Grainger and Scottish Rugby legend Gavin Hastings, as well as De Vere Club member Andrew ‘Freddie' Flintoff.
Colin Montgomerie has enjoyed one of the most successful playing careers in the history of the European Tour and also captained the European Team to a dramatic Ryder Cup victory at Celtic Manor in 2010.
Speaking about the venture, Montgomerie said: "I am really proud to be working with De Vere. Over the years their courses have held some magical moments in my own personal golfing career, particularly The Belfry.
"I'm fully behind any initiative that encourages people to get out and play more golf. Flexibility and affordability are important in helping our sport grow, and with the 12 fantastic venues and 19 golf courses around the country, it's no surprise to me that this has been a resounding success."
The De Vere group boast courses such as The Carrick at Loch Lomond, Mottram Hall in Manchester, Wokefield Park in Reading and the impressive Slaley Hall in Northumberland.
