England trio seeking a shining Finnish
Andrew Sullivan, winner of two events this year and a semi-finalist in the Amateur Championship, has been named in a three-man squad to represent the EGU in next month’s Finnish Open Amateur Championship

The Midlander will be joined by Luke Goddard and Miles Mackman in the 54-hole championship at Helsinki Golf Club, Talin, on 7th - 9th August.
Sullivan, 21, has won the Berkhamsted Trophy and topped the individual rankings in the Midland Qualifying at Chesterfield, while he was denied a place in the Amateur Championship final when he was beaten by Tommy Fleetwood. A former Warwickshire Open Champion, Sullivan will be making his second foreign assignment for the EGU after he played in the Czech Amateur last year.
Goddard, 20, from Middlesex, finished third behind Sullivan at Berkhamsted, while he has also filled runners-up spots in the Selborne and Hampshire Salvers and the Lagonda Trophy this year. A former winner of the Bernard Darwin and McEvoy Trophies, the South East Junior Championship, the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters and the Chiberta Grand Prix in Biarritz, Goddard was a boy international in 2006 and is a member of the England A Squad.
Mackman, 22, who is also a member of the England A Squad, last year won the Lagonda Trophy, finished fifth in the Chiberta Grand Prix and represented Wiltshire in last year s English County Finals. This year, he has finished third in the Selborne Salver, fourth in the Hampshire Salver and the Berkshire Trophy and sixth in the Duncan Putter.
The Finnish event has proved successful for English players. Luke Collins won the title last year, Ross Fisher in 2003, beating Gary Wolstenholme in a play-off, while Wolstenholme won the title in 1996.
Apart from the individual championship, England have also been successful in the Nations Cup which is decided over the opening 36 holes, the best two cards to count in each round.
England squad: Luke Goddard (Hendon), Miles Mackman (Broome Manor), Andrew Sullivan (Nuneaton).
