Adcock and Sullivan on Federal duty down under
English Champion Todd Adcock and Warwickshire’s Andrew Sullivan have been selected to represent the English Golf Union in the Federal Amateur Open Championship
English Champion Todd Adcock from Sussex and Warwickshire s Andrew Sullivan have been selected to represent the English Golf Union in the Federal Amateur Open Championship at the Federal Golf Club in Canberra, Australia, on 3rd - 6th October.
Adcock (The Nevill), 23, won the English title over the Hotchkin course at Woodhall Spa last month after beating several leading contenders such as internationals Steven Uzzell and Sam Hutsby before overcoming US college student Chris Paisley in the 36-hole final.
The performance earned Adcock a place in the England team for the recent Home Internationals in Scotland.
Sullivan (Nuneaton), 21, is a former Warwickshire Open Champion who won the Berkhamsted Trophy in April and was the leading individual in the Midland Region qualifying. He also finished third in the Midland Closed Championship, reached the semi-finals of the Amateur Championship and recently represented the EGU in the Finnish Amateur.
The Federal Amateur Open Championship will host an international field including Australia s top ranking amateurs as well as entries from Ireland, France, Asia and the Ivory Coast as well as England. There will be a cut after 36 holes, the leading 60 and ties qualifying for the final two rounds.
