Vaughan leads his side out at Marriott Hanbury Manor
Captain Michael Vaughan was one of several members of England’s current cricket squad who took part at the recent Professional Cricketers’ Association’s Golf Day at the Marriott Hanbury Manor Hotel & Country Club in Hertfordshire
The Yorkshire batsman was joined by International colleagues James Anderson, Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Graeme Swann and Andrew Strauss as well as by a number of former players including Mike Gatting, Ronnie Irani, Geraint Jones, Alex Stewart and Shaun Udal.
Gatting showed he had lost none of his legendary power when he won the day s Long Driving contest with a drive measuring 350 yards, while the team prize was won by the PCA team comprising CEO Sean Morris, former Chelsea star Gianluca Vialli, Keith Impey and Matt Vandrau who amassed 89 points in the Stableford event. The nearest the pin award went to Paul Blanchard.
We use Hanbury Manor on a regular basis as it offers a fantastic combination of a first-class hotel, golf course and meeting venue, commented Sean Morris, CEO of the PCA.
We look forward to coming back for years to come, he added
We were thrilled to welcome the PCA for what was a thoroughly enjoyable day, said Simon Clough, Marriott Hanbury Manor Hotel & Country Club s Director of Golf.
The golfers seem to have a great time and we were able to entertain their children in our crèche before everyone joined together for and informal BBQ.
The PCA Golf Day is one of a large number of high profile events Hanbury Manor G & CC is hosting over the summer months.
