Ryder Cup stars flock to PGA Tour

Three new members of Europe's victorious Ryder Cup team have taken up PGA Tour membership for the 2013 season.

Nicolas Colsaerts, Peter Hanson and Martin Kaymer, along with Englishman David Lynn and Japan's teenage sensation Ryo Ishikawa, have committed to playing at least 15 tournaments in America.

Colsaerts, Hanson, Kaymer and Lynn will be considered rookies, but Ishikawa played under special temporary membership for the majority of 2012.

Colsaerts, the European Tour's longest driver, made $518,111 in 2012, thanks largely to top-ten finishes at The Open and the Wyndham Championship.

Hanson - winner of the KLM Open and the BMW Masters - earned $835,211, and Lynn - who finished second at the PGA Championship - amassed $865,000 in just two PGA Tour tournaments.

They all qualified through the non-member money list, which grants cards to those who finish the equivalent of 125th or better on the official PGA Tour Money List.

Martin Kaymer, who has previously resisted the chance to move to America, has taken up membership courtesy of a five-year exemption for winning the 2010 PGA Championship.

As it stands, 19 of the top 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking are PGA Tour members.

The highest-ranked non-member is Hanson at number 19. Paul Lawrie, in 27th place, is the only player in the current top 30 that won't be a PGA Tour member next season.

Lawrie - who beat Brandt Snedeker at Medinah - and Francesco Molinari will be the only members of Jose Maria Olazabal's side to play exclusively on the European Tour next season.
