AT&T Pebble Beach National pro am: day three
Jim Furyk has a one-shot lead but history is against him
Jim Furyk takes a one-shot lead into the final round. He has not won on tour since September 2010 and has failed to win the last eight times when he was atop the leaderboard after 54 holes.
Jim Furyk made seven birdies over his last 10 holes to take a one-shot lead into the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National pro am.
Furyk is playing in his first event since the Ryder Cup last summer and has not won a tournament since the Tour Championship in September 2010.
The prospects of him breaking the spell may not be that great tomorrow - he has failed to win the last eight times when he was atop the leaderboard after 54 holes.
Overnight co-leaders of the AT&T Pebble Beach National pro am Matt Jones and Brandt Snedeker each shot 67 at Pebble Beach and were one shot behind.
Jones held a three-shot lead on multiple occasions on Saturday and was still out in front until he posted bogeys on the closing two holes.
Nick Watney birdied his last hole for a 65 at Pebble Beach and was two shots behind.

Scott Brown at Monterey Peninsula’s par-71 layout played his first 10 holes in 8-under. He finished his round at nine under and one off the course record. He made the cut despite his opening round of 75.
Marcel Siem also ended one shot off a course record. In his case it was the Pebble Beach one. Birdies on the 2nd, 4th and 5th followed by an eagle on the 6th set up a round of 63.
Brandt Snedeker and Billy Horschel had been the only two players to play the first 36 holes bogey-free. Snedeker ended this run at the 3rd hole. Horschel made five bogeys and a double bogey in his third round 73.
Defending champion Jimmy Walker shot a 5-under 66 at Monterey Peninsula, putting him in a tie for 24th at 10-under.
John Daly shot 73 and so misses the cut despite lying third at the end of day one after shooting 65.
