Padraig Harrington invests in Oceânico Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort
The Open Championship winner chooses luxury Algarve villa at Oceânico Group’s Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort

Padraig Harrington, who successfully defended his Open Championship title this month, will have plenty of opportunity to practice when he takes ownership of a villa at Oceânico Group s Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort in Portugal.
With the first phase due for completion in Autumn 2010, property purchase at the luxury development includes membership to all seven Oceânico golf courses in the Algarve - five in Vilamoura; Oceânico Victoria (where the Portugal Masters is played), The Oceânico Old Course, Oceânico Pinhal, Oceânico Millennium and Oceânico Laguna as well as the Nick Faldo and Christy O Connor Jnr. designed golf courses at the nearby Amendoeira Golf Resort.
Padraig Harrington says: Buying at Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort not only gives me the security of a quality property investment, but it will allow me to practice on a different course every day of the week, a quality that very few resorts can offer. Away from the golf courses there are swimming pools, great beaches and fantastic leisure facilities, so I can spend some quality time with friends and family, and I m already looking forward to it.
Designed in a Moorish theme to complement the local architecture, Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort is situated on a 170-acre site in the heart of Portugal s Algarve. The new resort will include luxury two and three-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom semi-detached villas, and four and five-bedroom detached villas, together with extensive gardens crafted by celebrity landscape designer Diarmuid Gavin and a wide range of leisure facilities, restaurants, bars and children s play areas.
Padraig Harrington has selected an Oceânico Prestige property providing outright ownership of a stunning five-bedroom villa with private swimming pool and a range of lifestyle services including use of a Sunseeker luxury cruiser, executive car transfers and an in-house concierge. Other Oceânico Prestige owners include Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, David Howell, Paul McGinley, and Retief Goosen.
Oceânico Group Director Simon Burgess, added: Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort has been designed to offer the highest standards for owners, not just in terms of the build quality and design, but also the facilities we include for investors. Padraig, together with all of our owners, will benefit from membership of seven championship golf courses an offer unsurpassed in Europe, and we are delighted that he has selected Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort for a base in Portugal.
Oceânico Prestige Fractional, the company s luxury fractional ownership solution is also available at the resort. Representing the ultimate in fractional ownership it offers eighth share in a luxury four-bedroom villa, combined with access to exclusive lifestyle services, plus membership of the Oceânico Prestige Residence Club. This allows owners to stay as often as they wish at their Home Club or at a growing range of other Prestige Residence Clubs around the World, subject to reservation policies.
