Golf's trick-shot king works his magic at Jeremy Dale Scoring Schools
Jeremy Dale, ‘The Trick Shot King’ has been showing there’s more to him than amazing golf shots – he’s teaching people to ‘play bad golf really well.’
Through the Jeremy Dale Scoring Schools, an alternative one-day coaching session, Dale is proving to be highly effective at lowering golfers scores without making drastic changes to their swings.
Since launching the Scoring Schools at Stapleford Park Country House Hotel and Sporting Estate, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, the UK's most innovative trick-shot artist has been inundated with golfers looking to improve their game and shave shots off their handicap.
They have also attracted attention from the national media, with features appearing in The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers.
Times journalist Tom Chesshyre said: Expect to learn a lot about how to improve your game... quickly. Jeremy s lessons are based on a simple principle: How to play bad golf really well.
Pupils benefit from Dale s unique combination of creative golf expertise demonstrated in his internationally renowned trick-shot shows and his psychological approach, using simple mental strategies that harness positive attitude and course management skills to help golfers score better.
I believe our profession has got it wrong in the way we teach golf, says Jeremy, who qualified as a golf professional, having already gained a degree in psychology at Sussex University. We spend too much time trying to change peoples swings we make things unnecessarily technical and complicated, when it can actually be straightforward.
Scoring schools are taught in groups, with a maximum of six golfers. Dale has also launched ladies only scoring schools for summer 2008. Each Scoring School begins with an introductory session revealing the importance of the short game and course management, before moving outdoors to work on simple, fun strategies to get the ball in the hole in less shots.

What the pupils say:
"Three days after attending Jeremy Dale's scoring school, I won my next club competition and am still marvelling at the immediate impact he had had on my game," said 13-handicapper Tom Harrison.
Phil Jones, 17 handicap, said: Jeremy Dale is worth his weight in practice balls!
Jeremy's coaching style is both highly effective and easy to put into practice. Since I met Jeremy and attended his Scoring School clinics my handicap has come down six shots in under a year," added Adrian Davies, who now plays off 12 after seeking Dale s advice.
A week after going on Jeremy's school I broke 80 for the first time with a gross 79 and reduced my handicap by three shots from 18 to 15." Mike Isley.
