Celebs open Carden Park clubhouse
De Vere Deluxe resort holds grand opening of revamped clubhouse. Celeb-am tournament attended by the likes of Roy Evans and Bob Champion raises around £2,000 for Cancer Research.
Carden Park Hotel, Golf resort and Spa in Chester, one of the two De Vere Deluxe resorts, had the grand opening of its stylish new clubhouse on Sunday 20 April. A number of well known celebrities from the region, including former Everton captain Kevin Ratcliffe, ex-Liverpool manager Roy Evans and Bob Champion, who won the 1981 Grand National on Aldaniti, celebrated the opening by taking part in the Celeb-Am golf tournament that was held on the Nicklaus Championship course. Aside from the opening of the luxury new clubhouse, the day raised around £2000 for Cancer Research.
Former Liverpool manager, Roy Evans commented, “I’m absolutely delighted to have lent my support to today’s opening of this stunning new clubhouse. It’s a great facility, which I’m sure will be extremely well received by everyone who has the opportunity to play golf at this luxurious venue.” Roy along with teammates John Berry, Spencer Robson and Steve Morgan, owner of Carden Park, won the event with an impressive score of 93 points.
Hamish Ferguson, General Manager, Carden Park said: “It’s been a fantastic day and I’m sure one that will live long in the memory for everyone who took part. We aim to create unforgettable experiences for everyone who visits the resort; we’re extremely confident that the new clubhouse will greatly enhance our offering to golfers that play the magnificent courses we have here.”
The £500,000 upgrade to the clubhouse has created a more contemporary style, look and feel that features immaculate interiors and exquisite detail, with stone flooring and stone cladding backed seating areas. Other exciting features include brand new saunas for the locker rooms, the installation of six new 50” HD plasma screens and new look dining areas.
